Plan for it is to compete in STF by summer 2014 but for now and the slush series it will be staying in RTF / HS.

The TRM C1 wheels are a bit heavier than UL and Enkei but look better and are much cheaper! STF project on a budget

Next would be FSB+RSB+coilovers but that can wait until after the slush.

Hahaha! Considering that autox is 90% driver and 10% the car, I would be happy if I went from 14th in Index last year to 13th in ST Index this year. TBH HS is not the place for this car and it won't be any more competitive than the Shinka until it's in STF.

Swaybars would be money well spent before Slush Series and wouldn't require an alignment or any difficult install...

Correct! I'll benefit from a rear sway bar while staying in RTF-HS. If I can find an adjustable RSB, I'll have it installed now and keep the FSB for later.... need to do my homework on that.

225s are STF legal but wider wheels won't be RTF/HS legal. Either way I don't think the wheel width is an issue, you can probably fit 275s on a 15x7 (not that it's a good idea). The issue was that I wanted ZII as my base tires and they don't come in 225s for 15. I will probably need a set of lighter wheels + 225 summer tires but for an all around tire the 205 ZII seems to be my best choice.

The ULs are great wheels but only half a pound or so lighter than the TRMC1s; the Enkei's on the other hand are probably more than 2lbs lighter each.

I'm surprised R1Rs arent the tire of choice for this car this light. Were it me, my "national" setup would be 6 15x7.5s, 4 with 195 R1Rs and 2 with 225-45-15 RS3. On cold/rainy days, I'd run R1Rs all around, on hot days I'd run the RS3s on the front as they love heat and wont overheat on the front of a (relatively) heavy car for the tire size. I think Hollis was running something similar to this at one time, it makes a lot of sense to me.

That's definitely an interesting way to do it Mark! I yet have to experiment with different tires in the front and back as I've never had to do so.

I picked the ZII based on Andy's review in the June GRM but also based on local feedback. The other choice I had was the 225 BFG Rival, most STF cars at the nationals ran one or the other... with the Rivals getting better results. The ZII / Rival / R1R all seem like good choices for my car... Might need to try a few to find out the best setup.

I remember when I was running my Civic, I had 275s in the front and 205s in the rear and still couldn't heat the rear tires to save my life. It's amazing how little work the rear tires do on an FWD car. It's that experience that makes me think a tiny and light tire like the R1R that heats quickly could be a great choice for the back. I think on the really light STC and STS cars, the R1Rs are still dominant aren't they?

From the 2013 results, the R1Rs seem to be the better choice for lighter cars in STC / STS while in STF and RT classes the BFG is dominant. R1Rs are probably also better in rain than the Rivals... Rivals are described as an improved version of the RS3:

It's a lot of fun for a slower car... goodbye throttle modulation... hello trying to push the throttle through the firewall.

Next for me is an adjustable RSB... this one is build for b-Spec racing but should do the job:
