Heat Sheild - STS Legal ?

Hey guys, I am looking at adding a heat shield / MAF bracket to the Miata, but I am not sure if this is legal in STS.

The rule states that you can remove, replace or modify the existing exhaust heat shields, but does not state that you can add a heat shield.

What do you guys think? Is this class legal ?

    Technically there is no rule allowing to add a heat shield on it's own

    but

    since you are allowed to modify the intake, you can add one as long it's attached/connected to the intake.
    So basically as long you have at minimum a piece of string connecting your heat shield to your intake, it's legal.

    Yes the MAF is bolted to this piece...
